Challenging weather did not slow down Thomas Krasonis and Martin Doubek, who led Free Practice in their respective classes at Autodrom Most.
Mixed weather conditions at Autodrom Most made for a challenging opening day of the 2025 NASCAR GP Czech Republic, as drivers from both EuroNASCAR PRO and EuroNASCAR OPEN had to adjust with both dry and wet weather setups during Free Practice.
EuroNASCAR PRO Practice Recap
EuroNASCAR PRO was affected significantly as they only got time in FP2 to do dry weather running. Thomas Krasonis came out on top in this session with a lap time of 1:41.534.
Krasonis entered the Czechia round after completing a mid-season test in the 4.212 kilometer Most circuit. It seems that this extra data was vital in giving the Greek the edge over his closest rivals.
Brands Hatch winner Gianmarco Ercoli kept Krasonis honest by finishing second fastest, just 0.096 seconds behind the PK Carsport youngster. Paul Jouffreau, fastest in the wet FP1 session, claimed third in the final timesheets.
Martin Doubek and Vittorio Ghirelli completed the top-5 positions ahead of Liam Hezemans in sixth. Jack Davidson continues his steady improvement with a seventh place result, although he is one second behind Krasonis’ pace.
Fabrizio Armetta, Claudio Remigio Cappelli and Garrett Lowe rounded out the overall top-10. Lowe was particularly impressive in the wet weather conditions, finishing third in FP1 behind Jouffreau and Liam.
New local hero Michal Makes also impressed in the wet with a top-7 finish in FP1. However, he struggled in the dry and was only 16th fastest in the overall results.
Thomas Toffel was prevented from making dry weather laps in FP2 due to a blown engine in his Race Art Technology No. 34 Chevrolet Camaro. Max Lanza also had issues in his No. 89 Chevrolet Camaro, temporary for the Most round.

EuroNASCAR OPEN Practice Recap
Things were better for EuroNASCAR OPEN as the track dried up partway through FP1. It gave the less experienced drivers more time to get used to Autodrom Most, which is known for its fast and flowing layout.
That being said, a familiar face was on top of the leaderboards. Two-time EuroNASCAR OPEN champion Martin Doubek answered to the pressure of performing in front of his home crowd with a dominant performance in Free Practice.
Doubek’s fastest OPEN time of 1:41.473 was not only eighth tenths faster than Krasonis’ time here, it was also faster than all EuroNASCAR PRO times in their Free Practice.
Bruno Mulders trailed the two dominant drivers in third, still chasing for his first win in the series. Gil Linster returned from his illness on form in fourth, having also led FP1 in his Rette Jones Racing Ford Mustang.
Championship leader Melvin de Groot is fifth ahead of Thomas Dombrowski and Sandro Tavartkiladze. Patrick Schober had less than a stellar day in the office with only an eighth place finish to show for the winner here last year.
Valerio Marzi and Valentio Gambarotto completed the top-10 positions in EuroNASCAR OPEN. Jordan O’Brien showed solid speed in the wet, but found himself with a 2.764 seconds deficit to Doubek prior to Saturday’s Qualifying.
The debuting Monegasque Fabrice Pantani was 20th in the final results. Pantani had a lot of work to do to catch drivers such as Vanessa “Happinessa” Neumann, who was two seconds faster in the combined Practice times.
