Team Bleekemolen is set for changes to their driver roster across all three EuroNASCAR classes at Autodrom Most.
Michal Makeš’ recent signing with Team Bleekemolen is only one of the changes that the Dutch team will have for the NASCAR GP Czech Republic, scheduled to take place on 30-31 August at Autodrom Most.
As reported in the Makeš report, Team Bleekemolen will add a third car for Czechia in the form of the No. 76 Toyota Camry.
Team Bleekemolen has already entered a third car in the form of the No. 25 Ford Mustang at Brands Hatch. However, this No. 76 team will be a full in-house effort by the Dutch team, unlike the No. 25 car which was a joint effort between the team and Jerome Galpin through Team FJ.
Michael Bleekemolen’s status as the No. 76’s EuroNASCAR OPEN driver also confirms an early end to his EuroNASCAR PRO campaign.
The 75-year old had already made his return to OPEN at Brands Hatch. On that round, Michael acted as a last-minute replacement for Gil Linster at Hendriks Motorsport. The Luxembourger missed the round in the UK due to a prolonged bout of illness.
With Michael returning to EuroNASCAR OPEN, Bruno Mulders has been confirmed as his replacement for the rest of the season. Mulders already did the double duty starting from Vallelunga, when he received a surprise EuroNASCAR PRO debut in the Sunday race at Italy.
Team Bleekemolen’s EuroNASCAR Rookie Challenge roster also featured some changes. Robin Bleekemolen, daughter of team boss Sebastiaan, will make her series debut in Rookie Challenge onboard the No. 69 Toyota Camry.
Initially, it was expected that she will be joined by Team Bleekemolen’s regular Rookie Challenge driver Daniil Shapka for Most. However, Shapka announced on 23 August that “circumstances” that he “cannot influence” prevented him from competing in Czechia.
“Unfortunately, this year I’ll have to miss the EuroNASCAR round in Autodrom Most,” Shapka announced on social media.
“I would not really like to extend my summer break and can’t wait to get back on track, but sometimes there are circumstances that we cannot influence.”
“So I’ll take this time to prepare even better and will be back stronger straight to the autumn Playoffs. I wish best of luck to my team and friends in upcoming races and see you in Germany!”
