V8 Oval Series veteran Philipp Bachor was “surprised” at how the EuroNASCAR cars can keep up with GT4 machines with ease during his unexpected test at Reisbrennen.
V8 Oval Series racer Philipp Bachor received a chance to express his thoughts on how the EuroNASCAR car drives on track during a recent interview with EuroNASCAR commentator Andre Wiegold.
Bachor drove the EuroNASCAR stock cars after he was invited by Marko Stipp Motorsport to take part in the 2025 edition of Reisbrennen.
Reisbrennen, which took place on 31 July to 3 August at Lausitzring, was primarily focused towards JDM and import cars, but the organizers gave MSM the opportunity to host taxi rides with their fleet of EuroNASCAR machines.
Speaking of Wiegold, Bachor expressed his surprise at how well the EuroNASCAR cars performed. In particular, Bachor was happy with how the car was able to keep up with the GT4 cars fielded by VLN team Ring Racing in the taxi rides.
“It was a very strong experience,” said Bachor to Leadlap. “I tried to get used to the car with taxi guests on board. I was not fully at the limit, but I immediately noticed in the first lap that there is a lot of possibility with these cars.”
“I was surprised that the GT4 cars that were there did not get away. Nobody could drive away from me in a GT4 car, and I think there is even much more going on, because I wasn’t driving at my limits.”
“I wouldn’t have thought that at first. Later, I drove almost every lap like in qualifying, which of course was really fun.”
Bachor has yet to race in EuroNASCAR, but he is an experienced racer at Raceway Venray’s V8 Oval Series championship. He currently sits fourth in the 2025 championship, 46 points behind reigning champion Esten Coumans.
