Academy Motorsport officially announced the signing of Belgian duo Marc Goossens and Andres Beers to their 2025 EuroNASCAR squad.

Academy Motorsport completes their full roster for 2025. Belgian duo Marc Goossens and Andres Beers have been signed by the Italian team for the upcoming season, as revealed in the Entry List for the Valencia NASCAR Fest.

Both Goossens and Beers will share the driving duties of the No. 1 Ford Mustang. Goossens continues his participation in EuroNASCAR PRO, while Beers is set to make his full-time debut in EuroNASCAR OPEN.

Also completing the Academy roster is Academy’s co-owner Federico Monti. Fresh off his 2024 Club Challenge title victory, Monti will defend his title against an onslaught of new and returning competitors in the rebranded Rookie Challenge division.

“Academy is constantly growing thanks to the support of [fellow co-owner] Alex Caffi and Team FJ,” said Monti in the official announcement.

“Having an expert driver like Goossens with us will bring further improvements. Andres, who is currently 17 years old, will bring the energy and vitality. The team is ready to face a new EuroNASCAR season in the best possible way.”

Goossens’ signing with Academy meant that the 55-year old is set for his tenth season in EuroNASCAR’s top division.

The Belgian became EuroNASCAR’s ultimate journeyman during the twilight years of his long, illustrious career. Academy will become Goossens’ fifth team in as many years, having never really stayed loyal to one team in the post-COVID years.

Despite this habit of jumping from one team or another, Goossens have never lost his passion or speed in the sport.

This is best exemplified in his 2024 campaign, where he finished the season fifth overall. This is despite Goossens missing the American SpeedFest due to a clash with his duties as a team manager for RedAnt Racing.

2024 is also a year where Goossens scored four podium finishes, his most in a single season since 2017’s tally of five.

Despite this, the Belgian is still chasing for his first win since 2017. Therefore, he wants to finally make a return to Victory Lane with Academy in 2025.

“I’m thrilled to compete with Academy Motorsport!” said Goossens in the official announcement. “I’ve known Alex Caffi for many years and this opportunity came about while I was talking to him about completely different things.”

“Federico and I know each other by sight, but talking to him immediately created a great understanding between us. We have the same way of seeing many things.”

“I love competing in EuroNASCAR. It’s a world where the competition and the fight for a good result stays on the track, while afterwards in the paddock you are together to have a nice talk.”

“The car has a nice change with the sequential gearbox. I think it will be a great challenge for everyone.”

Goossens will also act as the mentor of Beers, who joins the series full-time in 2025. Beers made his debut in last year’s season finale, finishing 16th and 13th for Club Motorsport at Zolder.

Outside of his Zolder outing, Beers kept himself busy by racing a BMW 325i for IC Motorsport in Belcar. His maiden Belcar campaign was a success and he helped IC Motorsport to score a class victory in the 24 Hours of Zolder.

“It will certainly be exciting to be behind the wheel of a very different car for me,” said Beers in the official announcement.

“It does not have electronics and it’s bigger and heavier. But, it’s a car that you can have fun with as I was able to experience in a race last October.”

“Last year I was in Valencia as a spectator and this year I’m going back as a driver. I trained on the simulator but I’ll definitely find big differences.”

“I’ll use the same car as Marc. Thanks to his experience and knowledge of the circuits, this will make things easier for me.”
