Profile:
First introduced to motor racing when he went to Homestead-Miami Speedway to meet the Champ Car stars at the age of 4, Eric Filgueiras achieved many achievements in his karting career before he would made the switch to open-wheel, junior formula racing in 2010. He too would achieve success there, most notably when Filgueiras won USF2000’s National Class championship in 2016.
This year, Filgueiras will begin a new chapter on his racing career as he will made a move to the world of stock car racing, in particular the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after Mishumotors tabbed him to become the replacement driver of 2000 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte in the team’s No. 70 Hurst Shifters Chevrolet SS.
