Vittorio Ghirelli will defend his EuroNASCAR championship crown with PK Carsport, who also announced the signing of Thomas Dombrowski and Maxim van Laere.
PK Carsport and Vittorio Ghirelli are set to defend the EuroNASCAR championship title that they won in 2024. The reigning champions announced their plans to do so on 6 March 2025.
The announcement therefore confirms Ghirelli’s contract extension with the Belgian team for the upcoming season. Ghirelli is set to remain in the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro, which now features a dayglow yellow accent color.
Ghirelli enjoyed a spectacular season onboard PK Carsport’s No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro last year. The Italian won seven races and scored eleven pole positions, setting the new all-time record for the most pole positions in a single year across all divisions.
Even though Ghirelli only won the title by eight points from RDV Competition’s Paul Jouffreau, the gap does not tell the whole story. Ghirelli had the championship firmly in his hands and gained enough advantage to only need a 14th place finish in order to secure his title in the finale at Zolder.
This dominant run made it easy for Ghirelli to set his goals for 2025. For the driver from Fasano, that goal is a repeat of his 2024 form.
“I’m so happy to be participating again in the NASCAR Euro Series PRO division as the reigning champion,” said Ghirelli to nascar.eu. “My goal is to repeat that success and break my own records from the 2024 season.”
“It will be a tough battle as the competition is always strong, but I’m preparing for the season with great attention to every detail. My team, my family at PK Carsport, will for sure provide me with a super competitive car to win races.”
PK Carsport also used the opportunity to unveil their full roster. In doing so, they became the first team announce all of their 2025 contenders.
After announcing Thomas Krasonis’ arrival in January, the Belgian team announced that Thomas Dombrowski and Maxim van Laere will also join the squad in 2025.
Dombrowski is set to partner Ghirelli as the EuroNASCAR OPEN driver of the No. 24 infitto.eu / Rellumix Camaro. The Frenchman completes his full-time move to PK following a late switch from Team Bleekemolen in last year’s Zolder finale.
“Excited to be back in EuroNASCAR for the 2025 season with PK Carsport!” said Dombrowski to nascar.eu. “This team has a winning mindset, and I’m proud to be part of it.”
“I’ll be sharing car #24 with my friend and reigning champion, Vittorio. He’s one of the best in the game. Racing alongside him is a great opportunity to learn and push myself even further.”
“With his experience and the strength of PK Carsport, we have everything we need to fight at the top. The season is about to start, let’s make it unforgettable!”

Maxim van Laere will accompany Krasonis in the No. 13 Costamare Inc. Camaro. As the name implies, Maxim is related to Sven van Laere – Maxim is Sven’s 15-year old son.
Sven, who was forced to retire last year due to underlying health issues, is ready to train his son to become the next EuroNASCAR star. To achieve this goal, Sven has registered Maxim to compete in the regularity-based Rookie Challenge.
“I’m happy and proud to get the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of my father and be part of this great championship,” said Maxim to nascar.eu. “This year will be a steep learning path coming from karting and being the youngest driver on the grid.”
“However, I know I’m well surrounded by one of the top teams in the NASCAR Euro Series, Anthony Kumpen’s PK Carsport.”
“I’m very pleased that my sponsors are now also following Max’s NASCAR adventure,” adds Sven. “He will be trying to get as high as possible on the amazing pyramid created by Team FJ and NASCAR.”
