Martin Doubek will be contesting the 2024 EuroNASCAR season with Hendriks Motorsport’s No. 7 Orion Ford, a news that was announced on his 29th birthday.
Martin Doubek celebrated his 29th birthday on 22 December 2023 with perhaps the best present possible: The announcement of his contract extension with NASCAR Whelen Euro Series powerhouse team Hendriks Motorsport.
The 2021 EuroNASCAR 2 champion will be staying in the No. 7 Ford Mustang sponsored by Orion Racing – owned by his father Jiří – for the upcoming 2024 season and is once again planning to compete double duty.
This news further solidified the Czech driver’s relationship with the Dutch team on what would be his tenth season in the sport, with the 2024 season being set to be his sixth season with Hendriks.
“EuroNASCAR is a great racing series and I’m already looking forward to my home race at Autodrom Most,” said Doubek to euronascar.com. “My goal is to improve my lap times in Qualifying and win my second EuroNASCAR 2 championship. I’m also excited to be back with Orion Racing.”
Doubek managed to score a total of five podium finishes across both EuroNASCAR PRO and EN2 in 2023, but he was left hungry for more after he found himself struggling to maintain the form that he had in the previous year.
There are, however, flashes of brilliance with moments such as leading the first few laps of the second Most race and chasing eventual EN2 champion Paul Jouffreau in the worsening conditions during the season finale in Zolder.
The aforementioned challenge to Jouffreau was enough for the Litomyšl-born driver to finish inside the top-5 in the 2023 EN2 championship. An eighth place finish in the ENPRO championship was enough for Doubek to maintain his best ENPRO standings finish to date.
With Doubek showcasing that he still has the speed to become a top contender in EuroNASCAR’s most unpredictable division, there’s no doubt that he and Hendriks will be working hard to bring their side of the garage back to the Victory Lane next year.
